North Kildare Cricket Club Lost by 50 runs

Match report A disappointing start to the season for the Women's 1st XI. Missing our captain and opening bowler, Shana Lipson-Ngai, meant that some players had to step up to the mark.

Some very good positives to take from the batting innings - 3 good partnerships that made an average of just over a run a ball possible for the team:

Lucy Small and Jenny Lowry (38)
Melissa Scott-Hayward and Naomi Scott-Hayward (30)
Lucy Small and Liz Hassett (27)

The fielding was up to standard in the usual North Kildare ladies style - with some great dives and slides - putting our bodies on the line! Tight in the ring and putting the pressure on the batters. A few run out opportunities missed. A great catch made by Melissa which unfortunately was a no ball would have seen Ciara Metcalfe off the field two overs earlier.

All in all when the 6 penalty runs against us for time, and the other 61 extras are tidied up on as the season goes on, then we will be a much more competitive team in Division 1.
