North Kildare Cricket Club Lost By 6 Wickets

Match report North Kildare won the toss and elected to bat. The 1sts posted a decent score of 135-7 in their 20 overs thanks to a superb knock from Manny Singh. Singh made 66 from 57 odd balls hitting 6x4s and 1x6. The second best contributor to the total was Wasif Ali who went in at 6 and made a brisk 29.

Oakhill won the game on the penultimate ball when they got a single and tied the scores and because they had lost a few less wickets victory was theirs. The oppo scrambled a single off the final ball to win the game outright. T. Iqbal top scored for the oppo with a quickfire 64. Captain Satchwell was the pick of the 1sts bowling. His 5 overs went for a mere 17 runs and he picked up a wicket also.

So a narrow defeat for the 1sts sees them bow out of another cup. The 1sts will be determined to avoid falling at the first hurdle in their next cup encounter, away to Mullingar this Sunday in the Senior 2 Cup.
