Match report The Hills. 19-08-2012.

With The Hills winning the toss and choosing to bat they got off to a great start, With NK3 starting slowly the Hills reaching 110/1 at drinks. But NK3's found the fighting spirit they needed in the field to peg back The Hills with contributions from all. Outstanding bowling from Gary Hunt leading the fight back with 2-24, a wonderful spell from Daire O'Neill finishing with 4-34, and Matthew O'Meara coming back at the end of The Hills innings to take out the tail 2-28 (plus two catches), and solid spells from James Machin 1-29 and Justin Wall 0-28 (who will bowl much worse and take a hat full). Also a notable fine catch from Adam Kelly stopped The Hills in their tracks all out for 172. The champagne moment belonged to Daire with an incredible run out from deep in the outfield, ripping out the middle stump with a direct hit.

James Machin and Gary Hunt opening the innings with James unfortunate to go early, which saw Daire come in at number 3. The pair went on to play a very mature partnership of 99 to give us a great chance of winning; Daire eventually falling for 24 off 75 balls with the score on 109/2. Gary would go on to make a career best 76 off 128 balls, showing great timing and maturity through out. Ger Horn then coming in to push us on to within touching distance of victory, but with the big push on a mini collapse meant a nervy finish was on the cards. Thankfully the coolest of heads was shown by Matthew O'Meara who, with two needed from three balls, calmly stroked his first ball through mid wicket for three runs to let major celebrations begin.

Thanks to all involved; over the last few months its taken a lot of work especially from Ronan and this great win is the Reward!
