North Kildare Cricket Club Under 13 A v Malahide on Sun 29 May 2011 at 10.00
North Kildare Cricket Club Lost

Match report The first game against Malahide C.C. was a hard fought affair, Malahide made 91 runs for 7 wickets before completing their 20 overs. Malahide had to contend with some superb fielding from the Kildare team. Good catching from Mathew Bond and Sean Goodburn and excellent ground fielding from Anna Kerrison, Stephen Gray, and Mathew O’Meara lead the way.

In the bowling department Anna Kerrison kept things tight the figures of 1 for 13 off four overs. Seventeen runs though were given away in extras and this contributed towards a much bigger total for the opposition.

North Kildare’s batting was steady with contributions from S.Murphy (10), S.Goodburn (9) and M.Small (5) this helped to build the score, but it was not enough to challenge. A late and very determined charge by A. Kerrison 20 (run out attempting to force the pace) and M.Bond aggressive 16 not out nearly swung the game, leaving the home team just 7 runs short at the end of the day.

This was a hard fought game of cricket, played until the last ball, Malahide knew they had a game on their hands and North Kildare made them fight all the way.
