North Kildare Cricket Club Lost by 105 runs.

Match report The Thirds lost away to a strong Terenure team on Saturday. Barra won the toss and put CYenure in. They got off to a flier reaching 22 for no loss of 3 overs. Barra (8-1-35
-2) turned to spin (himself) and had both openers caught, one by debutant Kevin Valente and another a thin snick through to keeper GOODFELLOW. At the other end Paul McGrievy (8-2-28-2) wheeled away with good discipline and was rewarded with two wickets. Ronan Cruise (5-0-19-0) bowled well in his first bowling outing of the season and Quinton Bourke (8-1-27-1) got a wicket thanks to a brilliant one handed catch again by Valente. Sally Cory (4-1-19-1) got the skipper caught by Barra at cover and Cameron Futter (7-1-36-1) bowled a mcuh improved second spell to clean bowl the dangerous Kelleher as he threatened to take the game away. The thirds had done very well to restrict Terenure to a very gettable 178 for 7 in their 40 overs. Special mention goes to the other debutant young Jack Kerrison who fielded very well through out and to the now old stager who is Dáire O'Neill whos composure in the field belies his still young age.

Unfortunately things did not go well from then on in. Both the Terenure opening bowlers bowled good opening spells and one in particular had Quinton (10) caught behind feathering a short ball and bowled Barra (15) with a leg stump yorker. He eventually finished with the healthy figures of 8-1-15-6 and with debutant Valente, who batted really well for 19, the only other NK batsmen to reach double figures the innings eh..fell away somewhat. The thirds were bowled out for 73. They know that their batting will have to improve if they're to beat a strong Mulingar side a week after next.
