North Kildare Cricket Club Men's 3rd XI v Halverstown on Sun 18 Apr 2010 at
North Kildare Cricket Club Won NK won by 5 runs.

Match report The thirds started the season with a superb win in a friendly match versus Halverstown on Sunday. Halverstown are a league above the thirds so promised to be a challenge. Batting the first they got first look at the new mat - Bouncy! The batting performance left a little bit to be desired with Quinton Bourke (21) and 50 partnership between Séan Dalton (18) and Gary Hansell Jnr. (39*) being the main contributions.

Defending 135 a good surface was going to be tricky and so it proved with wickets hard to come by but the thirds stuck at it with Hansell (2-16) and Bourke (1-8) getting wickets but it was young Dáire O'Neil (1-18) and particularly Cameron Futter (6-25) that got the vital breakthroughs. Futter started with a double wicket maiden and finished with a triple wicket maiden to give the thirds the win by 5 runs. The thirds move on, having blown away the cobwebs, to their first league match of the season - away to Pembroke nest Sunday.
