Match report It was a poor display with both the bat and ball for the 2nds first outing of the season. Losing the toss and put into to bat things started pretty slowly against the Hills opening bolwers. 19-1 after 10 wasnt the start hoped for. By the 20th the run rate had improved only slightly as Walshe & Clark added 36 but Clark had become the first of Looping Leg Spinner Ajaz Farroqui's 5 victims. The only bright light in middle order of Pyne, Moxom and Fuuter (who all failed and manged a meager 7 runs between them) was Shiv Sethi who hit a rapid 25 from 14 Balls. However having whacked a six over mid on he went for it again next ball and this time found the man in the semi deep. From 60-3 NK had now collapsed even further to 97-7, at this point 120 looked barely possible. Que the youngsters Hansell & Dalton, they showed exactly how it should be done at they steadied the ship and built a partnership of 38 between the 27th and 38th overs. Both played briiliantly with shots of note a wonderful extra cover drive from Gary Jnr and a super chip over mid for 4 on from Dalton. Once Dalton departed however "Nicechap" and Vorster came and went quickly..152 All Out.

The writing seemed on the wall early as the 5 wicket man Farrouqui looked as good with bat as he had with the ball. Pyne toiled for 6 straight without fortune and even though Vorster had bagged the limited looking no.2 Dougherty in the 6th the score at 20 overs was a respectable 64 for 2. The spin of Sethi and Hansel slowed things somewhat but with a required run rate of 1.95 per over wickets were needed to cause a panic in The Hills order. Futter and Waslhe tried without joy and eventhough Hansel's much improved Off Spin had got rid of Farrouqui a solid looking numbers 4 & 5 chipped away at the target. A soft defeat came in the 38th over.

Verdict; Improvement needed when Pembroke 3 visit this Sunday.
